My story
The profession chose me and not vice versa
How did I become a seamstress? I have started to sew as a little girl in the former USSR. We couldn't afford to buy fashionable clothes, so I learned to sew and I made all my own clothes.
When I graduated from high school, I dreamed of going to study fashion design at a university far from home. However, the fear of moving to an unfamiliar place, the pressure from my parents to study a ''practical '' profession, and all the fears, thoughts and difficulties along the way paralyzed me, so I decided to give up.
In my 50's, I finally mustered up the courage and decided to set off on my own. The fears and thoughts are still there, the difficulties still exist, but the urge to create, and to fulfill dreams for other people has made me take this step.
